Planning a Search Strategy: Further help

Saving your search

Many electronic databases allow you to save your search strategy.

To do this you will usually need to create a personal account within the database. Once this is set up you should see an option to save your search permanently. Please refer to the individual help pages on the databases for assistance with this.

In addition to saving your search strategy, many databases will allow you to save your search as an 'alert'. This means that when new articles are added to the databases which meet your search criteria, you will be sent an email notifying you of the latest additions. Again, please refer to the help pages within the individual databases for further assistance.
